WLAN with sandisk connect plus on cacko rom 1.21

Postby cric on Wed Apr 13, 2005 9:28 am

Hi
On monday I bought a sandisk connect plus. I am using the cacko rom 1.21 (the latest existing for the sl5500). I read that this card should work with cacko V1.22 but is there any hope that the card will work V 1.21?
I don't like to use openzaurus because several applications I own don't work on that rom (or they need a lot of time to fix).
Does anybody use a sandisk card with cacko 1.21 and can tell me what to do?
If not: which wifi card does work on cacko 1.21? So I can sell my sandisk and get a working one.

Many thanks
cric

As far as I know maslovsky did have to add a certain hostap module to the Cacko kernel. And he did integrate that into the 1.22 kernel. Probably you should contact him if you have applications that don't run on it - so he can fix in some 1.23 rom.

Regarding different wifi cards, many others work - as long as they don't have an integrated flash memory. That was the tricky issue with the Sandisk Connect Plus. You might also have a look at www.oesf.org

Thanks a lot hns.
I just ordered a asus-wl110 card because I could find an entry for that card in the wlan-ng.conf file. And I will return the sandisk card. I have no time and nerves to spend hours or days getting the card to work.
And: I just contacted maslovsky as you suggested.

Have a nice day
