dtm2xml -a failed error on ZMacSync 1.5.1

Postby tony on Sat Jan 08, 2005 10:47 pm

Hi,

I've just downloaded ZMacSync 1.5.1 and get the error:
Data from Zaurus-1 not available.

The error on the log is:
dtm2xml -a failed

I can successfully connect to the Zaurus via SSL over USB.

My set up is:
- Mac OS 10.3.7
- ZMacSync 1.5.1
- Zaurus SL5500 ROM 3.10
- Conneting to mac via USB

Any idea what the problem might be?

Most probably it is a corrupt DTM database on the Zaurus.

Please try "dtm2xml reset database".

Typing "dtm2xml reset database" solved the dtm2xml -a failed error. I was able to sync afterwards but encountered two more problems:

1) iCal entries were not copied

2) (More serious problem)
Due to an unrelated issue, I needed to re-install ZMacSync on my Mac and Zaurus. During the process, I removed the ZMacSync folder from the Application Support directory.

The problem now is that ZMacSync hangs during the 'Committing Zaurus-1 with Local-1..." stage.

Can you tell me what's wrong and how I can fix it?

Thanks
tony

Some thoughts:
- Did you enable writing of Calendar entries to the Zaurus?
- what is the start date of the entries? If it is let's say 2002 they will show up only there

That is an interesting situation. I will try what happens and report what to do.

If you mean checking the 'Calendar' option in ZMacSync's Zaurus Settings, then yes, it is enabled. Are there things I need to set elsewhere?

The first calendar entry in my iCal is in Dec 2001 and I have entries up to 2005. There are no entries at all on my Zaurus' calendar.

Any idea what the problem might be or how I can fix it?

It now seems to be comleting the sync without hanging. The only thing change I can think of is that I was using a web browser at the time it started hanging. Not sure if this helps you...
